Probiotics & Digestive Enzymes

Pictured are two products I use added to my dogs RAW food, rotated daily. Some kibble has probiotics added, but enzymes are sometimes forgotten about. I used these products even when feeding high quality kibble. The two products I have pictured have great reviews and I love them, but there are others out there. If you just want to use one, I would recommend the Great Life enzymes pro as it has other beneficial ingredients added. If your dog is ever on antibiotics, using a probiotic supplement is a must! If your dog suffers from any bowel issues, this might just be what they need! I order from either chewy.com or amazon.com depending on which is cheapest at the time, and Amazon usually has larger sizes which I need! |
Dog Healthy Fruits & Veggies

This weeks TOTW is all about fruit and vegetables that are healthy for your dog, in moderation! I use some of these as training treats and occasionally add to their food! I am including a few links below that list dog safe foods, and more info. Raw fresh/frozen is best, I don't use canned/cooked and wouldn't recommend, EXCEPT I use 100% natural canned pumpkin in their food twice a week. I would recommend cutting in small thin pieces if you are just starting as some dogs are better chewers than others! Feel free to ask any questions, or let me know if you have a great site you'd like me to add! |

Eclampsia

Eclampsia Today's tip of the week is info on an issue with whelping that I feel is important! I have included a great link below. I have seen so many lately suggest to supplement with calcium after each puppy born, and while this may work for some...doing so could cause more harm than good for your dog if not truly needed!! I never have and never will supplement calcium during delivery....the risk of putting my female in danger of eclampsia which is highly life threatening just to "possibly" help with contractions is not worth it to me. I will give calcium FOODS after delivery. I just saw a breeder post about her experience in giving calcium supplements during whelping and both females ended up getting eclampsia, and luckily treated early! The next breeding she did not supplement and no issues!! Know your dogs, watch closely for signs of distress, and just because everyone is saying you SHOULD doesn't mean its good for YOUR dog! |

Potty Training Puppy Apartment

My first Tip Of The Week is a product that I think is GENIUS!! Potty Training Puppy Apartment Check out the video here: http://modernpuppies.com/ I'm a huge fan of crate training & puppy pad training, and this brings both together in a better way! :) Young puppies cannot hold it very long when crate training, so I love that this gives them an option while training at the same time! They also have playpen attachments to give your trained puppy more space to run and play while you are away! If you have this, know someone who does, or have made your own version...Feel free to comment here, or on my Facebook page under the Tip Of The Week post, about your experience! :) Check back next Friday for another Tip Of The Week, and have a wonderful weekend!! :) |
